Reports and COA generation

Reports and certificates of analysis convert reviewed lab work into customer deliverables. Report availability depends on sample status, result completion, approval workflow, tenant-specific templates, customer delivery rules, and role permissions.

Before generating a report#

Confirm that:

  • the sample or batch is ready for reporting;
  • results, units, limits, qualifiers, and comments have been reviewed;
  • the correct client, contact, project, sample identifiers, and collection dates are present;
  • the expected report template is available;
  • required attachments or chain-of-custody pages are present when your tenant uses them;
  • your role is allowed to preview, save, download, or publish reports.

Generate a report or COA#

  1. Open the sample, batch, project, or report-ready queue.
  2. Select the report or COA action available in your tenant.
  3. Choose the approved template and output options when prompted.
  4. Preview the output before saving or sending.
  5. Check sample IDs, client details, result values, units, limits, qualifiers, signatures, disclaimers, and page count.
  6. Save, download, or publish according to your lab SOP.

Output review checklist#

Before a report leaves the lab, confirm:

  • only intended samples are included;
  • no incomplete or canceled analyses are shown unless intentionally reported;
  • units, detection/reporting limits, and qualifiers match the approved method;
  • comments and disclaimers are appropriate for the customer and program;
  • signatures, titles, logos, and contact information are correct;
  • attachments or chain-of-custody pages are present only when required.

Users with the appropriate role can select approved templates and download outputs. Contact Clearline for new report layouts, template logic changes, signature blocks, regulatory wording, customer-specific COA packages, or other changes to managed report configuration.

Support escalation#

Open a Clearline Support ticket when the report action is missing, the wrong template appears, preview fails, output is incomplete, or the generated report does not match the approved format. Include only sanitized internal references, the page URL, affected role or account type, current workflow status, what you tried, and exact error text. Redact sensitive values from screenshots. Do not attach regulated data, customer records, reports, credentials, or production exports; Clearline Support will provide a controlled transfer path if additional information is required.
