Import instrument results into Clearline LIMS
Instrument result imports help your lab move approved instrument output into Clearline LIMS without manually retyping every result.
Prerequisites#
- Clearline has configured the instrument import format for your tenant.
- The instrument output file matches the expected format for that import.
- Samples, worksheets, or batches already exist and can be matched to the incoming results.
- Your role can import or review instrument results.
Import the result file#
- Export the result file from the instrument or instrument software according to your lab procedure.
- Open the configured import page or workflow in Clearline LIMS.
- Choose the instrument, method, worksheet, or batch if the workflow asks for it.
- Upload the result file.
- Review the import preview for matched samples, analytes, units, and values.
- Submit the import only after the preview matches the expected records.
Review exceptions#
Common exceptions include unmatched sample identifiers, unexpected analyte names, missing units, duplicate rows, or values outside configured limits. Correct the source file only when your lab procedure allows it, or ask a reviewer or administrator how to handle the exception.
Confirm imported results#
- Open the worksheet, batch, or results list after import.
- Filter to the imported records.
- Confirm result values, units, flags, and comments.
- Route the records to the next review step.
- Keep the original instrument output file according to your lab's data retention process.
