Analysis Profiles & Templates

Analysis Profiles and Analysis Templates help you register samples faster by pre-loading standard test sets instead of selecting individual analyses every time.

Analysis Profiles

An Analysis Profile is a saved, named set of analyses. Instead of manually selecting the same 10 tests for every water quality sample, you apply the "Water Quality" profile and all 10 are added at once.

Applying a Profile During Registration

When registering a sample, look for the Analysis Profiles field in the registration form. Click it, select the relevant profile, and the associated analyses are automatically added to the sample.

You can apply more than one profile, and you can also add individual analyses on top of a profile.

Locked Analyses

Analyses added from a profile are locked — they cannot be deselected or removed individually. This ensures the full profile runs as configured.

If you hover over the info icon (ℹ) next to a locked analysis, you'll see which profile it came from.

To add extra analyses beyond what a profile includes, simply select them individually. Those additions are unlocked and can be removed.

Need a new profile or changes to an existing one?

Analysis Profiles are configured by the CTM team. Contact support@clearlinelims.com to request a new profile, modify an existing one, or remove one you no longer use.

Analysis Templates

An Analysis Template goes one step further than a profile. It combines:

  • A Sample Type (e.g., Water, Soil)
  • An Analysis Profile (or custom analysis set)
  • Other defaults (e.g., sampling point, container type)

When you use a template, the sample type and analyses are pre-filled together, reducing registration to just filling in the contact, date sampled, and any sample-specific fields.

Using a Template

  1. In the registration form, find the Analysis Template field.
  2. Select the template that matches the sample you're registering.
  3. The Sample Type and Analyses fields populate automatically.
  4. Fill in the remaining required fields (Contact, Date Sampled) and click Save.

Templates are ideal for labs with a fixed set of routine sample types — for example, a water lab that runs the same panel of tests on every incoming water sample.

Templates are created and managed by the CTM team. Contact support@clearlinelims.com to request new templates or modifications.
